Enable the router
TherouterfeaturesareenabledwhenNATisenabled.By
default,NATisdisabled.ToenableNAT:
1. InWatcher,selectTools > Options > MP.
2. UnderNetworkSettings,selectNetworkAddressTrans‐
lation(NAT)andfromthedrop‐downlistselectEnabled.
TheMPmodemautomaticallyresetsinorderforthe
changetotakeeffect.
File and resource sharing over LAN
WhenNATisenabledontheMPmodem,itsroutercapabil‐
itiesallowyoutosharefilesandresourcessuchasprinters,
fax,etc.betweencomputersontheLAN.
Static IP and TCP/UDP port
forwarding in NAT mode
Ifdesired,youhavetheoptiontosetupstaticIPaddressesand
TCP/UDPportforwarding.Thefollowingsectionsdescribe
theseoptionalsettingsinmoredetail.
Set up static IP addresses
StaticIPaddressesareusedtoassignapredefinedIPaddress
toaspecificclientonthelocalnetwork.Theclientisidentified
byitsMACaddress.WhenStaticIPisusedinconjunctionwith
NATportforwarding,itallowsaserverapplicationtoreside
onthelocalnetworkandreceive
unsoliciteddata/requests
fromaremoteclientontheexternalnetwork.
PrivateIPaddressesintherange192.168.1.20to192.168.1.254
forEthernetand192.168.2.20to192.168.2.254forwirelessLAN
areavailableforuseasstaticIPaddresses.
Youcansetupamaximumof10staticroutes,andtheseroutes
canapplytoeitheranEthernetorWAPinterface.Tosetup
staticrouting,youneedtoknowtheMACaddressofthe
computersyouwanttoconfigure.
Toconfigurestaticroutes:
1. UnlocktheMPmodemconfiguration.InWatcher,select
Tools > AT CommandsandentertheAT!MPCFGOPEN=ʺxʺ,
where“x”isthepassword.(DefaultpasswordisMP3G,
e.g.AT!MPCFGOPEN=ʺMP3Gʺ)
