3.8 Device Settings
This section describes how to perform maintenance and printer testing.
The Device Settings property page can help determine how well the
computer is communicating with the printer and verify that certain
settings are correct.
Click the Device Settings tab to open the Device Settings property page.
Note:
The “Error Writing to LPT1” message
appears when trying to use the
functions in the Device Settings
property page without connecting the
printer to your computer.
3.8.1 Maintenance Ribbon Settings
Click Ribbon Settings to specify the type and width of the ribbon, as
well as the ribbon motor voltage.
CAUTION!
Do not load a normal ribbon
when specifying Premium for
the type of ribbon, as this may
cause the ribbon to be melted.
• In Ribbon, select the color that is loaded in the printer.
• Click the Type down arrow to select the type and width of ribbon
to be used.
• In Ribbon Motor Voltage Fine Adjustment, mark the Set
checkbox to make a fine adjustment for the rewind motor and the
back tension motor voltage.
