EPA ENERGY STAR ® (MFD)
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has introduced a voluntary programme, the ENERGY
STAR programme, to encourage the widespread and voluntary use of energy-efficient technologies that enhance
the workplace, improve product performance and prevent pollution. As an
ENERGY STAR Partner, the TOSHIBA
TEC CORPORATION has determined that this copier model meets the
ENERGY STAR guidelines for energy
efficiency.
ENERGY STAR guidelines for this class of copier require ENERGY STAR copiers to have a ‘Sleep mode’
feature that automatically makes the copier enter the sleep mode after a period of inactivity. The copier must also
automatically change to a ‘Low power mode’ after a certain period of time since the last usage.
Specifically, this copier complies with the following requirements.
Low power mode:
The equipment automatically enters this mode when a specified period of time (the default setting at the time
of shipment: 15 minutes) has passed since its last use. “Saving energy” appears on the LCD screen.
Sleep mode:
The equipment automatically enters this mode when a specified period of time (the default setting at the time
of shipment: 30 minutes) has passed since its last use. “Sleep mode” appears on the LCD screen.
A maximum of 70 W (in the sleep mode) is provided as standard power consumption in the
ENERGY STAR.
The power consumption of this equipment is within the provided one both in the lower power mode and sleep
mode.
Note 1: The period from the last use to the time the equipment enters into the sleep mode or the low power mode
can be changed. See the following page for details:
P.128 “Timer Setting”
Note 2: In the sleep mode, the equipment starts warming itself up when print data are received, or when any
button on the control panel is pressed. When the warm-up has completed, the equipment enters into the
ready status and starts printing out the data.
