2.11 Uniden Data 2000 Host Applications
There are two host applications provided with the Uniden Data 2000:
UDConfig and UDInsight. UDConfig allows the user to configure and
modify the parameters of the Uniden Data 2000. UDInsight provides
insight to the user regarding the state and status of the Uniden Data
2000 in the SLIP and PPP modes.
Please refer to Section 2.12, UD Configuration and Insight
Operation for Host Application Operation.
Important:
UDConfig requires the Uniden Data 2000
to be in AT command mode in order to operate, not
SLIP or PPP mode.
Important: UDInsight requires the Uniden Data 2000
to be in PPP or SLIP or PPP mode with Dial-Up
networking installed.
2.11.1 UDConfig
UDConfig is a host application that allows the user to configure and
modify the parameters of the Uniden Data 2000. UD Config provides
two modes, Setup Wizard and Advanced mode. The Advanced mode
has 9 tabbed dialogs which represent the 9 different parameter areas
that are accessible to the user.
2.11.1.1 Setup Wizard
To confugure the Uniden Data 2000, take the following steps:
1. Insert the U
niden Data 2000 into the PC Card slot of the host
terminal you are using.
2. Move the On/Off Power Switch to the ‘on’ position.
3. Double-click the UDConfig icon or select UDConfig
from the Start Menu. (Start Programs UD2000
Host Application).
UD Config will search for the location of your U
niden Data
2000 modem. Please wait until the Setup Wizard screen
appears.
