To drop the color out of a black and white, or grayscale image:
1. From Color Mode menu, choose Black and White or Halftone,
or 8-Bit Gray.
The Color Drop-out icon becomes active.
2. Click the Color Drop-out icon.
The dialog box appears for dropping out one of the colors, or none
of them.
3. Choose one of the colors to drop out (Red, Green, Blue).
If you don’t want to drop out any color, choose None to scan with
all the colors.
4. Click OK.
Now when you scan the black and white or gray item, the selected
color is removed.
