COVER
The front cover was not completely
closed.
Close the front cover for the drum
unit.
CHECK
ORIGINAL
Originals were not inserted or fed
properly, or original scanned from
ADF was longer than about 40 inches
(90cm).
See Original Jams and Paper Jams,
page 14-3.
MACHINE
ERROR XX
DCP has a mechanical problem. Call Brother Customer Service:

OUT OF
MEMORY
(May occur
when the DCP is
used as a
printer.)
DCP memory capacity has been
exceeded.
Turn off the power, and then turn it
back on. Data remaining in the
memory of the DCP will be deleted.
If you have installed the Windows
®
driver, try again after setting the True
Type mode to Print as Graphics in
the PRINT menu of your application
software.
Reduce the print resolution or reduce
the complexity of your document.
PLS OPEN
COVER
A page, piece of paper or paper clip,
etc. may be jammed inside the DCP.
Open the front cover. If you see any
jammed paper or other item, gently
pull it out, then close the front cover. If
the error message remains, open and
close the front cover again. If the DCP
cannot reset itself, it will display
MACHINE ERROR XX. Please call
Brother Customer Service and tell
them the DCP Error number at:

In Canada: 1-877-BROTHER
In Montreal: 1-514-685-6464
PAPER JAM The paper is jammed in the DCP. See page 14-3.
TONER EMPTY Toner cartridge is not installed.
OR
Toner is used up and printing is not
possible.
Reinstall the toner cartridge.
OR
Replace the toner cartridge with a new
one.
(See page 14-17.)
TONER LOW If the LCD shows TONER LOW,
you can still print.
But the toner is depleted and the DCP
is telling you that the toner will soon
run out.
Order a new toner cartridge now.
