3-party conference
A call with one internal and two external subscribers.
10BaseT
This is an Ethernet connection with a transfer rate of 10 Mbit/s. The connection is via
twisted-pair cable.
ADSL
Stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
This is a transfer technology that uses the conventional copper-cable network to
realise broadband data connections. The downstream channel (to the user) is broad-
band, while the upstream channel is narrowband and designed primarily for transmit-
ting control information messages.
AOCD
Advice of charge during an outgoing call.
AOCE
Advice of charge at the end of an outgoing call.
B-channel
This is the "bearer" channel of an ISDN line, used for voice and data traffic, and it has
a transmission rate of 64 kbit/s.
Call assignment
Every MSN is assigned to the internal analogue terminals (11 - 14) which are to signal
calls for the respective MSN.
Call forwarding
Call forwarding in the exchange means that you can always be contacted under your
own MSN, irrespective of where you are. From your telephone you enter the desired
destination number: every subsequent call to your telephone is then automatically
forwarded to this number. There are three types of call forwarding: immediate, on
busy and after a specified time. Calls can be forwarded world-wide to all telephone
and mobile radio connections.
Call pickup
You can pick up an external call at your telephone when another telephone signals
the call.
Call waiting
A tone during a conversation which signals that another subscriber is calling you.
