How to prevent out-gassing “ghosting” of framed prints
To prevent “ghosting” — the fogging that sometimes occurs when you frame an ink jet print
behind glass — follow these three simple steps:
1. After printing, let the print rest for 15 minutes.
2. After 15 minutes, place a sheet of plain paper (not photo paper) on top of the print
for 24 hours. The paper will absorb the solvents and accelerate the out-gassing.
3. After 24 hours, remove the plain paper. If the paper is wavy, repeat the procedure
with a new sheet of paper for another 24 hours, after which the print should be ready
for framing. If the paper isn’t wavy, your print should be ready to frame.
If you already have ghosting, simply remove and clean the glass, then use the procedure
above to cure the image before reframing.
Enhanced Matte Paper
For photographers seeking a bright-white paper with a flat matte surface, Epson Enhanced
Matte Paper is the ideal choice. It yields highly saturated images with an outstanding contrast
ratio, while maintaining excellent highlight and shadow detail. Designed primarily for use
with pigment inks, this versatile paper can also be used with dye-based inks.

To get the best results from Epson papers:
1. Always handle the paper by the edges to
avoid scratching, scuffing and fingerprints.
2. Paper should be printed at room temperature 59–77ºF
(15–25ºC) with relative humidity at 40–60%.
3. Store unused paper in its original package in a flat, cool,
dry environment away from high temperatures,
humidity and exposure to light.
