Why does Epson recommend having the latest firmware
on Epson Stylus®Pro printers?
Firmware updates supply enhancements and corrections to keep your printer compatible
with updated drivers, software and operating systems. The Epson Stylus Pro 4800, 7800 and
9800 printers use flash firmware, so they can be updated by end users via PC or Macintosh.®
To perform the update, you need the Printer Service Utility and the latest firmware files.
How can I get the Printer Service Utility and the latest firmware files?
You can download them both from the Epson Professional Graphics Web site.
Just go to prographics.epson.com and click Drivers & Support, then Printers.
ICC profiles that are included with Epson Stylus Pro printers are labeled by their
acronyms. Is there a list that explains these acronyms and their definitions?
Profiles ending in MK are to be used when the Matte Black ink is installed as the primary
black, and PK is for Photo Black. Any profile ending in 250 is intended for the roll stock or
17" sheets of that particular media. For a complete list of profiles, visit prographics.epson.com
