Installing Replication Server
34 Replication Server
Installing with a response file
You can install Replication Server using a response file in combination with a
console or silent installation. You must first create the response file.
Note You must provide the absolute path name for the response file you create.
To create a response file, do one of the following at the command line:
• Enter the following command, where REP.response is name you choose
for the response file:
• HP-UX and Solaris:
./setup -options-template REP.response
• IBM AIX:
./setup -options-template REP.response -is:javahome JVM
InstallShield creates an options template called REP.response. Edit the
template with the values you want to use during installation.
• Enter the following command at the command line, where REP.response
is a name you choose for the response file:
Note You must provide the absolute path name for the response file you
create.
• HP-UX and Solaris:
./setup - options-record REP.response
• IBM AIX:
./setup - options-record REP.response -is:javahome JVM
InstallShield runs the installation in GUI mode and captures all user
choices to a file called REP.response. You can also specify the
-console
option to get the same results.
You can use REP.response for future installations of Replication Server, either
as is or edited for the new installation.
❖ Editing the response file
1 Specify the installation location, where path is the full path and file name:
-P installLocation=path
