Your HP Photosmart printer is designed to be reliable and easy to use. This
chapter answers frequently asked questions and contains information about the

guide that came with your printer. For advanced troubleshooting information, see

Note: In the presence of high electromagnetic fields, printed documents
and photos may be slightly distorted.
Note: HP recommends using a USB cable less than 10 feet (3 meters) in
length to minimize injected noise due to potential high electromagnetic
fields.

Before contacting HP support, read this section for troubleshooting tips or go to
the online support services at www.hp.com/support.
Problem Possible cause Solution
The On/Attention light is
blinking green but the printer is
not printing.
The printer is processing
information.
Wait a moment for the printer
to finish processing the
information.
The On/Attention light is
blinking red.
The printer requires attention. Try the following:
1Check the printers LCD
screen and the computer
monitor for instructions.
2 If this does not work and
you have a digital camera
connected to the printer,
check the camera’s LCD for
instructions.
3 If this does not work, turn off
the printer. Unplug the
printer’s power cord, wait
about 10 seconds, then
plug it in again. Turn on the
printer.
