CAUTION:
Diagnostic tests can temporarily lock the transmit and receive speed of the links during
diagnostic testing.
For information about specic diagnostic tests, refer to the latest version of the HP
StorageWorks Fabric OS administrator guide or type help followed by the name of
the d iagnostic test.
Powering on and off
4Gb SAN Switch po wer is provided b y the enclosure. The 4Gb SAN Switch will r un
PO ST by default each time power to the enclosure is turned on. The POST process
canlastaslongasthreeminutes.
To remove power from the switch, remove the 4Gb SAN Switch from the enclosure
interconnect bay.
NOTE:
Each time the 4Gb SAN Switch is powered on, its settings are r estored to the last
saved conguration.
Interpreting LED activity
You can monit
or switch activity and status by checking 4Gb SAN Switch LEDs.
There are thr
ee possible LED states: no light, a steady light, or a ashing light. The
steady ligh
ts and ashing lights can be green or amber.
The LEDs as
h any of these colors during boot, POST, or other diagnostic tests. This is
normal and does not indicate a problem unless the LEDs do not indicate a healthy state
after all boot processes and diagnostic tests are complete. A healthy state is indicated
by a steady green light. See Table 12 for details about LED activity.
