Preparing to Download: Adding Executables
If the integration package contains threshold monitors, automatic
actions, or operator-initiated actions to be performed on the managed
nodes, you must make sure that the VPO agents can find the required
executables (programs or scripts).
❏ Check whether the program/script already exists on the managed
node, for example, if it is part of the OS or part of a monitored
application.
❏ Use VPO to distribute the program/script to the managed node(s)
VPO will distribute the program/script to directories on the managed
node which are maintained by VPO and which are automatically in
the command search path of the VPO agents.
This section explains how to use VPO to distribute programs/scripts.
NOTE Distribution by VPO may only be used for small executables, preferably
small wrapper scripts for the reasons stated below.
