B. Use the “lpr” command.
- # lpr -P Printer1 <print file name>
- # lpr -P Printer2 <Print file name>
5.4 Using RedHat Linux Printer System Manager
In the RedHat x-window user interface, do the steps as follows:
1. Form the Start menu, choose Programs -> Administration
-> Click Printer Tool. Windows will display the RHS Linux
Print System Manager folder.
2. Click on the ADD button in the RHS Linux Print System
Manager folder. Windows will display the Add a Printer Entry
folder.
3. You will now be asked to specify which Printer type you are
using, select the "Remote Unix (lpd) Queue" option.
4. Click the OK button. Windows will display the Under Edit
Remote Unix(lpd) queue Entry folder
5. In the Under Edit Remote Unix(lpd) queue Entry folder,
enter values for the fields as follows:
- Input Names (name1[name2]*): Printer1 or Printer2
(any name)
- Spool Directory: /var/spool/lpd/Printer1 or Printer2
- File Limit in Kb (0=no limit): 0
- Remote Host: FPS-3003 or IP address of MFP server
- Remote Queue: USB1_LQ or USB2_LQ
- Input Filter [select] : select the printer driver
6. Click OK. In the RHS Linux Print System Manager folder,
select Tests in the menu bar.
7. Start printing:
A. Use the "lp" command.
- # lp -d Printer1 <Print file name>
- # lp -d Printer2 <Print file name>
