Field Description
OSPF Router id Router ID
LS age Age of LSA (in seconds)
Options Optional capabilities associated with the LSA
LS Type AS External Links - LSA describes routes to destinations outside the AS (including
default external routes for the AS)
Link State ID IP network number (External Network Number)
Advertising Router Advertising router ID
LS Sequence Number Sequence number of LSA (used to detect older duplicate LSAs)
LS Checksum Checksum of the complete contents of the LSA
Length The length of the LSA in bytes
Network Mask Address mask for the network
Metric Type Type 1 or Type 2 external metric (see “redistribute” on page 4-270)
Metrics Cost of the link
Forward Address Forwarding address for data to be passed to the advertised destination
(If set to 0.0.0.0, data is forwarded to the originator of the advertisement)
External Route Tag 32-bit field attached to each external route
(Not used by OSPF; may be used to communicate other information between
boundary routers as defined by specific applications)
