SNMP or Telnet Connection Examples
The DSU/CSU can be connected to an SNMP or Telnet system in a number of
ways. Some examples include:
H Directly connecting the COM port to the SNMP or Telnet device (Figure 2-4).
H Connecting the COM port to a network device (e.g., a router) (Figure 2-5).
H Connecting the COM port or the AUX port to an external LAN Adapter for
Ethernet connectivity (Figure 2-6).
H Daisy chaining the COM port of one device to the AUX port of the other
(Figure 2-7).
H Remotely accessing the DSU/CSU through the Facility Data Link (FDL) or the
synchronous data port’s Embedded Data Link (EDL) (Figure 2-8).
