Defining Hot Spares
Hot spare disks can be defined to provide fault tolerance in RAIDs.
A disk which has been marked as a hot spare will automatically take
the place of a failed disks in any RAID.
To mark a disk as a hot spare:
1 From the menu bar, select Storage - RAIDs.
2 Click . The Storage - RAIDs - Hot Spares page will
open:
3 Tick the box(es) of disk(s) which you wish to mark as hot spare.
4 Click to set the hot spare(s).
5 Click to save the changes and return to the
Storage - RAIDs page.
