• Advanced: For more precise white balance control, use Advanced mode to create
a “custom” color gamut and color temperature. You do this by specifying x/y
coordinate values for each primary color point (red, green and blue) and the white
point.
The default values (shown here) are the RGB color space parameters defined in
ITU-R Recommendation BT.709. You can adjust them up or down by a factor of
0.100; for example, the “Red x” range is from 0.540 to 0.740.
The Auto Color Enable and Test Pattern Enable checkboxes let you choose
what to display on-screen while making these adjustments. These controls work
together as follows:
• RVR: Use the RVR control to increase or decrease the Reflectance Volume Regulation
setting. RVR lets you control the aperture or iris size (the physical opening through the
lens; similar to an “f-stop” on a camera). Doing so allows you to optimize brightness
and contrast according to the amount of ambient light in the viewing area.
Use a higher setting for rooms with a lot of ambient light. Use a lower setting for more
“theater-like” viewing conditions (little or no ambient light).

Description
Off Off When both boxes are unchecked, the input
signal (normal picture) appears on the
display.
Off On When only the Test Pattern Enable box is
checked, a white “curtain” test pattern
appears instead of the input signal.
On Off When only the Auto Color Enable box is
checked, the input signal appears on the
display.
When you select a red, green or blue color
point to adjust, the DHD Controller displays
only that color channel. When you select a
white point x- or y-value, all colors are
visible (normal picture).
On On When both boxes are checked, the DHD
Controller automatically displays a red,
green, blue or white “curtain” test pattern
when you select an x- or y-value for that
color point to adjust.
