Troubleshooting SonicWALL CDP Agent
Operation
If your SonicWALL CDP Agent application does not start, verify
the following:
1. The software must be installed by a user with
administrative rights.
2. The operating system must be upgraded to the latest
released service pack.
3. If you have a personal firewall, add exceptions for the
following:
• CDPAgentservice.exe
• Lasso.Client.exe
• CDPAutoUpdate.exe
4. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or Windows
Server 2003, verify that Data Execution Prevention (DEP)
is configured to allow SonicWALL CDP:
• Under Windows Services, stop the
CDPAgentService.exe service.
• Right-click My Computer and select Properties, then
select the Advanced tab.
• Under Performance, click Settings.
• Select the Data Execution Prevention tab.
• If DEP is enabled for all programs and services, then
add CDPAgentService.exe, CDPAutoUpdate.exe, and
Lasso.Client.exe to the list.
• Click Apply.
• Start the Agent Service again.
5. Verify that there is no other content filtering or personal
firewall software running.
