7 Press CURSOR >/. to move the
cursor (I) to REAR, then press
CURSOR ?// to increase or
decrease the volume of the rear
speakers.
If you selected 3CH LOGIC in step 3,
skip this step.
For PROLOGIC sound, you should have
an equal volume balance with the other
speakers at your listening position.
For THEATER sound, you can adjust the
speaker level as you like.
The surround speakers’ volume balance
is always even.
8 Press MENU to return to the
original screen.
Adjusting the speaker level by listening to the
program source
1 Start playing a program source, then repeat step 1 through 4 in
“Using the pre-programmed sound fields” on page 49 and select
PROLOGIC or THEATER in step 3.
2 Press CURSOR >/./?// to move the cursor (I) to SUR EDIT,
then highlight LEVEL.
3 Repeat steps 5 through 8 on the previous page.
Increasing the maximum rear speaker level
Although the adjustment range of the rear speakers is preset from –15 to
+10 dB, you can shift the range up 5 dB (–10 to +15 dB). Hold down
MUTING on the unit while turning on the power. “GAIN UP” appears
in the display window.
The values for the rear level remain fixed at –15 to +10 dB on the menu,
but you will be able to hear the difference in the actual output level.
To reset the rear level adjustment range, repeat this procedure so “GAIN
NOR” appears in the display window.
