If the preceding methods donot work, use the following stepsto stop the ChangeDetector
Servicemanually:
a. Open the Services window,right-click on ChangeDetector Serviceand select Properties.
b. From theGeneral tab in thePropertieswindow, select Manual from theStartup type
drop-down list.
c. Restart yourWindowsNT computer.
You must remove Identity Synchronization forWindows registry keys. Open aCommand Prompt
window andtype regedt32to open the Registry Editor window.
Caution – Do not use regedit because the program does not allow you to edit multi-value
strings.
Backup your current Windows registry le before proceeding to
“Manually Uninstalling a 1.1
Instance from Windows NT” on page 135.
a. In the Registry Editor, selectthe top node (My Computer) inthe leftpane.
b. Select Registry → Export RegistryFile from themenu bar.
c. When the Export Registry File dialog box isdisplayed, specifya name for thele and select a
location tosave the backupregistry.
In the Registry Editor, select Edit → Deletefrom the menu bar.
Remove the following Identity Synchronization for Windows keys from the Registry:

All entries under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\Identity
Synchronization for Windows
■
All CurrentControlSet and ControlSet (such as ControlSet001, ControlSet002) entries
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\*.
These entries include the following:
