TANNOY WideBand
SuperTweeter
The Tannoy SuperTweeter™ extends the amplitude response beyond 20kHz audibility to 51kHz to correct the phase
response from 8kHz to 20kHz within the audible band. This preserves the harmonic structure of sounds and the stability
of the stereo image. The smooth tweeter faceplate contours prevent diffraction and cavity effects.
CABINET
The cabinet has a 40mm MDF sculpted front-baffle. It’s stiff, heavy and rigid design minimises diffraction. The recessed
drive units are fitted flush with the baffle surface which also minimises diffraction. The 10 point fixing maximises contact
between drive unit and baffle. Internally, robust bracing supports the sides and rear of the cabinet against the rear of the
bass driver to provide a rigid reactive mass for the moving cone assembly, which ensures a fast, tight bass response
and clear midrange.
High efficiency compact Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS)
For saving on power consumption and to insure optimal performance, disregarding the quality of mains voltage, the unit
is equipped with a high efficiency compact Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS). Using switched technology both in
amplifiers and power supply can reduce the heatsink size to about one third the size it would be with a regular power
supply and class AB amplifiers.
Unpacking & Visual Checks
To remove the speakers from the carton without damage, open the box in the upright position and fold back the four flaps.
Remove the top foam packaging and power cable then lift the unit out by gripping the cabinet, not the tweeter pod. Place
the speaker on a stable surface and inspect for signs of transit damage - please note that nothing on, or in, your speakers
should rattle. In the unlikely event of transit damage inform the carrier and supplier; keep all the damaged packaging,
as this will show evidence of any careless handling.
