OPERATION
Sending a fax from a Windows application
Follow these steps to send a fax from a Windows application:
1. Within your Windows application, open the file to fax and
select the PRINT command.
If you are faxing in PostScript resolution to another fax
printer, it is important that your documents use only those
fonts.
N Note: To avoid font substitution and undesired
document reformatting, documents faxed to other fax
printers should use only the 35 base fonts available to
all PostScript fax printers. This note does not apply to
documents sent to ordinary fax machines.
2. Make choices in the Print dialog box of the application.
Select the entire document, the current page, or a range of
pages to fax.
3. Click on OK.
After a moment, the Fax or Print dialog box appears.
4. You have the option of selecting the To Name box and
typing the recipient name. This name is inserted on the Fax
Confirmation dialog box and cover page if you use one.
5. Click on the Fax Number box and type the destination fax
number. Include any special access codes needed to dial the
fax number. These are added to the outside access codes (if
any) you specified during installation.
6. To use a cover page, select the Cover Page check box. An
“X“ in the check box indicates that a cover page is used.
