Table 7-1 Fields in Menu 22 (SNMP Configuration)
FIELD DESCRIPTION EXAMPLES
Get Community You can determine what the Get Community is for your
Prestige. The value entered into this field is used to
authenticate the community field for the incoming Get–
and GetNext– requests from the management station.
The default is public.

Set Community Enter the Set Community for your Prestige. The value
entered in this field is used to authenticate the
community field for the incoming Set– requests from the
management station. The default is public.

Trusted Host
Enter the IP address of the trusted host SNMP
management station. If this field is configured, then your
Prestige only responds to SNMP messages coming from
this address. If you leave the field blank (default), then
your Prestige responds to all SNMP messages it
receives, regardless of origin.
Trap: Community Enter the community name that is sent with each trap to
the SNMP manager. This should be treated like a
password and match what the SNMP manager is
expecting. The default is public.

Trap: Destination
This field contains the IP address of the station that you
wish to send your SNMP traps.
Once you have completed filling in Menu 22 – SNMP Configuration, press the [Enter] key to confirm
your selections or press the [Esc] key to cancel your changes. If you are not certain how to configure the
fields for the SNMP Configuration, consult your network administrator.
