6. With a non-metallic tool, reset the power manager by pressing the reset button
(located under the keyboard in the recess just left of the power button). Wait ve
seconds before continuing. Press the power button to start the computer.
Warning: Resetting the power manager will permanently remove a RAM disk, if
present, and all of its contents. You will also need to reset the date and time
(using the Date & Time control panel)
.
7. Verify power button cable is connected properly to logic board, if power button is not
functioning correctly or damaged, replace the top case.
8. Disconnect keyboard completely. Inspect connectors. Restart with keyboard
disconnected.
9. Remove any additional RAM.
10. Remove AirPort Card.
11. Verify DC-in board cable is securely connected.
12. Try known-good DC-in board.
13. Replace logic board.
Memory error message appears on the screen
1. Reseat the DIMMs.
2. Verify proper memory is being used. The PowerBook (1GHz/867MHz) uses 1.25-
inch (or shorter) PC-133 compliant, SO-DIMM memory cards.
3. Run Apple Hardware Test. If the test nds bad memory, replace the DIMMs one at a
time and test until all bad DIMMs are replaced with known-good modules. If the failure
is intermittent, run Apple Hardware Test in loop mode (Control-L) for an extended time
to test the memory.
