Dust on Drum The drum unit needs to be cleaned. See Cleaning the drum unit on page 11-16.
BT Call Sign On The machine is set BT Call Sign to
On. You cannot change the Receive
Mode from Manual to another mode.
Set BT Call Sign to Off.
See BT Call Sign (For U.K. Only) on page A-1.
Unit is too Hot The fuser unit is too hot. (For FAX-2920 and MFC-7225N)
Turn off the machine’s power switch, and check the
machine’s environment. If it is in a location that is too
hot or too cold, try to cool or warm the room by turning
on the air conditioner or heater. Or, change the
location. Then, turn on the machine’s power switch.
(The machine can be disconnected for up to 4 days
without losing faxes stored in the memory.)
(For FAX-2820)
When you turn off the machine’s power switch, its
memory will be cleared. (To check if faxes are in the
machine’s memory, see Checking if the machine has
faxes in its memory on page 11-5.) If there are faxes,
you need to save them before following the
suggestions below. (To save the faxes, see
Forwarding faxes to another fax machine on page
11-5.)
Then, turn off the machine’s power switch. Check the
machine’s environment. If it is in a location that is too
hot or too cold, try to cool or warm the room by turning
on the air conditioner or heater. Or, move the machine
to another location. Then, turn on the machine’s power
switch.
Fail to Warm up The fuser unit is too cold.
Machine too Hot The inside of the machine is too hot. Listen to the machine to check that the cooling fan is
spinning.
Make sure that the air vents are not covered up or
blocked.
If the fan is spinning and air vents are clear, you should
let the machine cool down for several minutes before
using it again.
If the fan is not spinning, follow the suggestions below.
(For FAX-2920 and MFC-7225N)
Turn off the machine's power switch and then on
again. If the error message continues leave the
machine for several minutes and then try it again. (The
machine can be turned off for up to 4 days without
losing faxes stored in the memory.)
(For FAX-2820)
When you turn off the machine's power switch its
memory will be cleared. To check whether the
machine has faxes in its memory, see Checking if the
machine has faxes in its memory on page 11-5. If there
are faxes you need to save them before following the
suggestions below (See Forwarding faxes to another
fax machine on page 11-5). Turn off the machine's
power switch and then on again. If the error message
continues, leave the machine for several minutes and
try it again.
