Open the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box as shown in “Checking
that the protocols are added” on pag e72.

Click Install.

Select Protocol and click Add.

Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

Click OK.
The TCP/IP protocol is added.
You will be prompted to restart your computer at this point. Click No because
you still have to specify an IP address. For instructions on how to do this, see
“Specifying the IP address” on page 77.
A.4.3 Specifying the IP address
To complete the addition of the TCP/IP protocol to your PC, you must specify an
appropriate IP address.
Note:
A suggested IEEE IP default value is 192.168.x.x, where x is a value ranging
from 0 to 255.
Follow the steps appropriate to the Windows version that you are using.
