6.3 Input / Output Signals
6.3.1 Input / Output Signals
(1) Input signals to the printer
• DATA : This is an 8-bit parallel signal (Positive logic)
• STB : This is a strobe signal to read in 8-bit data (Negative logic)
• RESET : This signal resets the entire printer (Negative logic) 1 ms or more
(2) Output signals from the printer
• ACK : This is an 8-bit data request signal. Pulse signal output at the end of the BUSY signal
(Negative logic)
• BUSY : This signal indicates the BUSY state of the printer. Enter new data when it is at LOW.
(Positive logic)
• FAULT : This signal is set to low when the printer has an alarm. When this is done, all control
circuits in the printer stop.(Negative logic)
• PE : This signal is output when the printing paper has run out or is running out.
(Positive logic)
• Drawer switch output
: This signal is set to HIGH when the switch is opened, and to LOW when shorted.
(3) Power signals
• +5VDC : This is a 5 V output pulled up at a 3.3 k Ω resistor.
• GND : This is a common ground on the circuits.
