Installing the Support Bracket
The support bracket is installed at the back of the two slide assemblies. To install the
support bracket, perform the following steps:
1. At the back of the rack cabinet, orient the support bracket with the open slots on
the ends facing the front of the rack cabinet (see Figure 1-18).
2. Lower the bracket into the space between the back of the slide assemblies, with
the bracket’s open slots pointing toward the pin facing the inside of the rack.
3. Push the open slot on each end of the bracket onto the pins on the right and left
slide assemblies, allowing the bracket to hang on the pins. The folded over ends
of the bracket should rest on the top of the slide assemblies.
4. On the side opposite the cable-management arm attachment point, install a
10-32 x 0.375-inch pan-head Phillips screw to secure the support bracket to the
threaded hole in the slide assembly (see Figure 1-18).
In the next procedure, you will secure the opposite end of the support bracket. It is
secured by the cable-management arm’s captive thumbscrew.
