Removing and Installing PCI and PCI Express Cards
1. If you are replacing a card, remove the current driver for the card from the operating system.
2. Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin."
3. Remove the computer cover.
4. Push the two release tabs on the card retention door from the inside to pivot the door open. Because the door is captive, it will remain in the open
position.
NOTICE: To prevent static damage to components inside your computer, discharge static electricity from your body before you touch any of your
computer's electronic components. You can do so by touching an unpainted metal surface on the computer.
NOTE: Dell offers an optional customer kit for Audigy II and IEEE 1394 PCI add-in-cards that includes a front-mounted IEEE 1394 connector.
