Replacing the USB Board
Removing the USB Board
1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.
2. Remove the battery (see Removing the Battery).
3. Remove the module cover (see Removing the Module Cover).
4. Remove the memory module(s) (see Removing the Memory Module(s)).
5. Follow the instructions in step 5 in Removing the Hard Drive(s).
6. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).
7. Remove the palm-rest assembly (see Removing the Palm-Rest Assembly).
8. Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard).
9. Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly).
10. Remove the Mini-Card(s) (see Removing the Mini-Card(s)).
11. Remove the bluetooth card (see Removing the Bluetooth Card).
12. Follow the instructions from step 13 to step 18 in Removing the Top Cover.
13. Turn the top-cover assembly over.
14. Lift the connector latch and disconnect the USB-board cable from the connector on the USB board.
15. Remove the screw that secures the USB board to the top cover.
16. Carefully ease the connectors on the USB board out of the slots in the top cover, and lift the USB board off the top cover.
