Replacing the Power-Button Board
Removing the Power-Button Board
1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.
2. Remove the battery (see Removing the Battery).
3. Remove the module cover (see Removing the Module Cover).
4. Remove the memory module(s) (see Removing the Memory Module(s)).
5. Follow the instructions in step 5 in Removing the Hard Drive(s).
6. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).
7. Remove the palm-rest assembly (see Removing the Palm-Rest Assembly).
8. Turn the palm-rest assembly over.
9. Lift the connector latch and pull the pull-tab to disconnect the power-button board cable from the connector on the power-button board.
10. Remove the two screws that secure the power-button board to the palm-rest assembly.
11. Lift the power-button board off the palm-rest assembly.
Replacing the Power-Button Board

CAUTION: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see Removing the Battery) before working inside the
computer.
