Troubleshooting
A
If failure is detected in an area other than the mainboard, an
error message is displayed on the screen and testing is
stopped.
If your system does not successfully start, but displays a
blank screen, emits a series of beeps, or displays an error
code, consult your dealer.
General Hardware Problems
A few common hardware problems and suggested solu-
tions are presented below:
The display screen is dark
1. Adjust the screen brightness.
2. Make sure that the computer is not in suspend mode.
An incorrect date and time are displayed.
Correct the date and time using the DOS DATE and TIME
commands or the options in the Setup Utility. (You can also
set the date and time in Windows by double clicking the
clock on the task bar or in the control panel.) If the date and
time become incorrect after a short time, your CMOS bat-
tery may be depleted. Contact your dealer to change the
battery.
The computer does not start or boot-up
1. If the power indicator is not on, the computer is without
power. Make sure you have properly attached the AC
adapter and power cord, or have installed a charged
battery.
2. If the computer is running on battery power, ensure that
the battery charge is not low. If the battery appears to
be charged, it may be faulty.
