The SIMM should snap into place between the tabs and
the retaining posts. If it does not go in smoothly, do not
force it; pull it all the way out and try again.
Make sure the SIMM is fully inserted into the socket and
that the pins on the retaining posts extend through the
holes in both ends.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each SIMM you want to install.
Replace the subassembly. See page 5-32 for instructions.
Follow the steps on page 5-40 to replace the computer’s
cover. Then see “Post-installation Setup” on page 5-42 for
instructions on configuring your computer for use with
your new memory.
Removing Memory Modules
If you need to remove memory modules from your computer,
have your dealer do it for you or follow the steps below. If
you remove them yourself, check the table on page 5-22 to be
sure you remove SIMMs from the correct sockets.
