Using a data CD in Windows 3.x
To read a data CD in Windows 3.x:
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Load a data CD into the CD tray.
3. Double-click File Manager.
4. Verify that the CD-ROM icon is displayed.
5. Double-click the CD-ROM icon to view the files located on the
CD.
Using a data CD in OS/2
To read a data CD in OS/2:
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Load a data CD into the CD tray.
3. Double-click OS/2 System; then click Drive.
4. Verify that the CD-ROM icon is displayed.
5. Double-click the CD-ROM icon to view the files located on the
CD.
Using a data CD in DOS
To read a data CD in DOS:
1. Turn on the computer.
The operating system displays the following messages (drive D is
the CD-ROM drive in this example):
MSCDEX Version 2.2.3
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corp. 1986-1993
Drive D:=Driver IBMCD1 unit
2. Load a data CD into the CD tray.
3. At the DOS prompt, type dir d:, and press Enter to view the CD
file directory.
