Comments
This sub-element is the extension number for a phone or a CTI application. An extension can be
any internal phone number managed by the CallManager’s DialPlan, according to its
configuration. Supported extensions include:
• Cisco IP Phone (79xx series) registered to the CallManager cluster.
• Analog Phone connected to a voice gateway (for example, ATA186 or Cisco VG200 Series,)
and registered to the CallManager cluster.
• Legacy phone connected to a legacy PBX. It is not registered to the CallManager cluster, but
has an extension number defined within the company’s internal DialPlan. A record can be
stored by the CallManager each time an internal legacy phone makes a call with an IP phone.
• VoiceMail application, which is defined in the CallManager as a special range of extension
numbers.
• Front desk operator.
• Hunt Group — a group of people in the company with the same extension number.
• Conference bridge.
• Any other CTI Application (IVR, AutoAttendant).
External PSTN numbers and unknown numbers that are not defined in the internal DialPlan of
the CallManager configuration are not managed by Netcool/Proviso through a specific sub-
element. However, each time a record is found in the CDR database with an external or unknown
number, metrics for either of the following specific sub-elements are created or updated:
•ExternalNumber
• UnknownExtension
