Preference The Preference tab in the Custom Settings dialog box allows you to select the
scanning background and an overscan parameter.
Background Setting—allows you to specify the background against which
you wish to scan. Scanning against a black background allows you to use
deskew and auto-crop functions in downstream software such as KODAK
Capture Software.
Over Scan Size—allows you to add a specified number of lines before
and after the edge of the image to reduce the possibility of corner clipping
on skewed images. This function allows you to use deskew and auto-crop
functions in downstream software such as KODAK Capture Software.
Drag the Lines sliding control bar to specify an overscan number from 0-118.
The default is “0.” The maximum width of an overscan image is 216 mm
(8.5 in.).
