4. Insert a new battery pack until it clicks into place 1 , and then slide the battery latch to the locked

5. Turn the computer over again. Connect the ac power adapter and all cables to the computer.
Replacing the base cover assembly
Before you start, print these instructions.
Note: Depending on the model, your computer might look slightly different from the illustrations in this topic.
To replace the base cover assembly, do the following:
1. Disable the built-in battery. See “Disabling the built-in battery” on page 67.
2. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
3. Remove the external battery pack. See “Replacing the external battery pack” on page 69.
4. Loosen the screws 1 that secure the base cover assembly. Then remove the base cover assembly 2 .
5. Reinstall the new base cover assembly 1 and tighten the screws 2 .
