8. Disconnect the front panel cable and the front panel USB cable from the rear of the front panel board.
9. Remove the two screws that secure the front panel board and then carefully remove the front panel
board from the left cage.

10. Touch the static-protective package that contains the new front panel board to any unpainted surface
on the outside of the server. Then, take the new front panel board out of the package.
Note: Carefully handle the front panel board by its edges.
11. Carefully position the new front panel board on the left cage so that the front controls, connectors, and
LEDs are through the corresponding holes in the cage and the two screw holes in the new front panel
board are aligned with the corresponding mounting studs on the cage. Then, install the screws to
secure the front panel board in place.

12. Connect the front panel cable and the front panel USB cable to the rear of the new front panel board.
13. Reinstall the left cage and then reconnect all cables. See “Removing and reinstalling the left cage”
on page 78.
14. If you are instructed to return the old front panel board, follow all packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials that are supplied to you for shipping.
