Inserting the Windows NT Server Setup Disk 3
When prompted to insert the Windows NT Server Setup Disk 3, follow these
steps:
1. Insert the disk, and press Enter.
2. Verify that the bottom of the screen displays various drivers being loaded.
Note: If the installation hangs when loading any of the SCSI drivers, you
must create a small DOS partition on each of the disk drives and perform
a DOS format on each of these partitions before installing Windows NT
Server 3.51.
3. You are informed which SCSI host adapter boards have been detected by
the NT setup procedure.
Included in the list should be the Adaptec 294x/AIC 78xx (PCI) adapter.
This adapter is embedded in the main system board of the server. Any
additional adapters which are installed on your system should also be
listed. Press Enter to accept this list of devices.
Installing from the CD-ROM
When NT setup asks whether you want to install from the CD-ROM, or from
the 3.5-inch flex drive, follow these steps:
1. Insert the Windows NT Server installation CD into the CD-ROM drive
and press Enter.
2. You are now shown the hardware and software components in your
system. If the list is correct, press Enter. Otherwise, change any incorrect
settings before pressing Enter.
Preparing the Hard Disk
You may receive a message indicating that the setup procedure has determined
that your hard disk is new or has been erased. Follow these steps:
