PCMCIA CONTROLLER AND SOCKETS
The PCMCIA controller is implemented on the system board using Omega’s 82C094 Inter-
face Controller. The 82C094 is compatible with the Intel i882092AA PCI to PCMCIA
controller chip. It supports two independent 68 pin PC card sockets and is register com-
patible with Intel’s 82365SL.
The NEC Versa 2500 Series notebook provides PCMCIA slots that support two Type I, or
Type II cards at the same time. or one Type III card on the upper slot and one Type I or II
card on the bottom slot.

HARD DISK SUBSYSTEM
The hard disk subsystem, implemented on the system board and on the associated built-in
hard disk drive, provides disk storage for all system software and user files.
The NEC Versa 2500 Series notebook is equipped with a high capacity 1.4 GB hard disk
drive that provides LBA (Logical Block Addressing) mode support. The I/O subsystem
controller, NS PC87336CLJ, provides the IDE controller for the hard disk.
