Remote sensin

If the volta

e drop across the +V and -V wires to the load is substantial, the
volta
g
e at the load will be less than the pro
g
rammed value. To prevent the volta
g
e
at the load from bein
g
less than the pro
g
rammed value, the sense wires must also
be connected to the load (remote sensin
g
). This way of sensin
g
allows the power
supply to compensate for volta
g
e drops in the wires between the power supply
and the load. The sense wires must be connected directly to the load poles.
Note: Lon
g
sense wires are susceptible to noise pickup. To minimize noise
pickup, twist each pair of sense wires to
g
ether. Shieldin
g
around the
sense wires may be necessary in more extreme cases.
