5.5.5 Step functions
When a list of memory addresses has been filled with volta
g
e and current
settin
g
s, it can be used in one of the followin
g
ways:
1) AUTO_STEP OFF:
This will invoke the manual step function, i.e., the next step is initiated by
the operator. For instance by manually steppin
g
throu
g
h a list of
predefined volta
g
es and currents, a test pattern of volta
g
e and current
settin
g
s will be
g
enerated. The manual steppin
g
will be executed for all
enabled output channels. Refer to section "Manual step function" on this
pa
g
e.
2) AUTO_STEP ON:
This will invoke the automatic step function, i.e. the next step is initiated
when the interval time has expired. For instance by automatically steppin
g
throu
g
h a list of sequential volta
g
es and currents, a volta
g
e/current ramp
function will be executed. The start and stop address of the sequential list
and the interval time between two consecutive steps can be pro
g
rammed.
Steppin
g
can be done in one of the followin
g
ways:
3) CONTINUOUS_STEP OFF:
The predefined sequence of memory addresses is executed only once.
4) CONTINUOUS_STEP ON:
The predefined sequence of memory addresses is executed continuously,
i.e., repeatedly from start to stop address.
Steppin
g
will be executed for all enabled output channels. Refer to section
"Automatic step function" on the next pa
g
e.
Manual step function:
The manual step function can be executed locally, usin
g
the key.
The AUTO_STEP function can be set ON or OFF via the STEP MENU under the
key.
Example:
REQUIREMENTS :
Step manually throu
g
h the predefined list of volta
g
e and current settin
g
s,
stored at the memory addresses 20 to 40. The volta
g
e and current settin
g
s
must be output for channel 1. Output channel 2 must be disabled.
