Audio Only Basic
Configuration and
Operation
The RMX unit can be used to run conferences that include only voice
(Audio Only) participants.
The RMX system includes special features such as the Interactive Voice
Response (IVR) functionality, blast dial-out to multiple pre-defined
participants, chairperson and participant control of conferences using
DTMF codes, Ad Hoc conferencing and more.
The RMX system uses voice prompts to guide participants to their
appropriate conferences. These prompts can be customized to enable
multilingual support.
The Polycom RMX conferencing system provides a way to hold meetings
with participants at multiple remote sites. It enables end-users to conduct
all types of meetings from the office or from the road using a telephone,
whether they require a high-level, scheduled, operator-assisted
conference or the convenience of on-demand or reservationless meeting.
Participants can connect to conferences using different network
connections: PSTN/ISDN lines, cellular phones, or VoIP (H.323 or SIP).
This chapter includes information required to configure the system
resources, set up, start and monitor conferences and reservations that
include Audio Only participants and configure the IVR modules.
