Note the following:
❑ The above figure displays connection to a Sony digital video camera; your digital
video camera recorder may need to be connected differently.
❑ Only Sony digital video cameras and connectors labeled “DV In/Out” or “i.LINK”
are i.LINK-compatible.
❑ See the manual that came with your digital video camera recorder for more
information on installation and use.
❑ The i.LINK connector does not supply power to external devices. If the external
device requires power from the i.LINK connector, you cannot use the device with
your notebook.
❑ The VAIO Notebook supports transfer rates up to 400 Mbps; however, the actual
transfer rate is the lowest transfer rate of the external device.
❑ The i.LINK features available may vary depending on the software applications
you use. See the documentation that came with your software for more
information.
❑ You can connect a digital video camera to the i.LINK connector on your notebook
or the i.LINK connector on the optional port replicator. When a camera is
connected to the i.LINK connector on the notebook, you should not connect any
other devices to the i.LINK connector on the port replicator. When a camera is
connected to the i.LINK connector on the port replicator, you should not connect
any other devices to the i.LINK connector on the notebook.
❑ An i.LINK connection is not guaranteed with other compatible devices.
