The

togetherwiththepromptsprintedinMemorySwitchmode.Thepromptsare
givenin capitallettersin squarebrackets,thus:[OFF].Factorysettingsare
markedhemwith an asterisk(forexample,[ON*]).A summaryof factory
settingsis alsoprovidedfollowingthissection.

Thismenuallowsyouto setup variousparameterscontrollingthe overall
setupof theprinter:

AUTOON-LINE
The printer RAM may be used as a print buffer
[BUFFER*],fordownloadingfonts[DOWNLOAD],or
as a single-linebuffer[lLINE.BUFFER].
Theprintermayeitherprintslowerandquieter[ON],or
faster,makingslightlymorenoiseIOFP].
Whenprintingin graphicsmode,theprintermayeither
print bidirectionally(in alternatedirections)for speed
IBI*] or in one directiononly (unidirectiomlfor in-
creased accuracy CUNI].For practicallyall purposes,
however,bidirectionalprintingissufficientlyaccurate.
If this is set [ON*],then when paper is inserted,the
printerwillautomaticallycomeon-line.Ifset[OFFI,then
youwillhavetopressthebuttonto
bringtheprinteron-
line.

Thismenuallowsyouto settwoparametm concerningfontswhichwillbe
automaticallyselectedwheneveryou turn onthe printer:
ZEROSTYLE
In computerusage,a zero isoften writ?enwitha slash
through it, as follows: ‘@”. This style is called
[SLASHED].If
a zero is writtenas a slightlythinner
capital“O”,withouttheslash(“O”),thisismaybechosen
byselectirwrNOW*I.
NLQFONTSTYLE Thisoptionallowsyoutochoosethedefaultfontselected
whenNLQmodeisselected.Allavailablefontsaregiven
as options.Thedefaultis [COURIER*].
