Thisisnotajobwhich youwillneed todovery often.The print head hasbeen
designed to givealife of about200 milliondots. Innormal everyday use, this
will mean years of life. However, if the print quality is faint, even after you
have changed the ribbon, the print head will
needreplacement.
Onlyusea replacementprintheadas recommendedby yoursupplier.

Turn OFFtheprinter,and removethepowercable.
2 Iftheprinterhas beeninoperationimmediatelybeforethisoperation,the
printheadwillbe hot.
NOTE
Allowtime for the print head to cool before attempting to work on it.

3 Openthetop cover.
4 Remove the ribbon cartridge (as described above)
5 Using a Phillips-typescrewdriver,carefully unscrew the two bolts
securingthe printhead to the printhead assembly(see the illustration
below).
6 Pulltheprintheadfirmlyupwards,releasingthepnntheadcard edgecon-
nectorsfromtheconnectormountedon the chassis.
7 Removetheretainingscrewsandwashersfromtheprintheadassembly.
Putthemon oneside.
8 Take,the new print head,andlocateit in position,makingsurethat the
cardedgeconnectionsfit securelyintothe chassisconnector.
