Basic Troubleshooting
Error Messages and Codes
If an abnormal condition arises in the machine or an incorrect
operation is performed, an alarm signal is generated for a few
seconds and a message indicating the nature of the error is
displayed. If this happens, take the corrective action listed in
the following table. The problem may be identified further by
accessing the error codes. To access the error codes when a
machine problem is identified press [Stop] and 08.
Error Messages
Error Message Description and Corrective Action
Drum life warning The print counter has reached 29,000 pages. Order new
drum cartridge.
Replace Drum The Drum Cartridge has reached its end of life. Replace the
Drum Cartridge. See “Replacing the Drum Cartridge”.
Check Drum The Drum Cartridge is not properly installed. Reinstall the
Drum Cartridge.
Toner is low The toner sensor detected toner low status. Order a new
toner cartridge.
Toner empty The toner sensor detected toner end status. Replace the
toner cartridge. See “Replacing the Toner Cartridge”.
Replace toner The toner cartridge is not properly installed. Reinstall the
toner cartridge.
Upper tray of the job separator is
full
Remove the paper from the upper tray of the job separator.
Lower tray of the job separator is
full
Remove the paper from the lower tray of the job separator.
Add Paper to Tray 1 Load paper in Tray 1.
Add Paper to Tray 2 Load paper in Tray 2.
Tray 1 is not ready Push Tray 1 into the machine.
Tray 2 is not ready Push Tray 2 into the machine.
