Symptom Cause Solution
White lines or streaks running
through one color only
Something is blocking the lens for
the affected color.
Clean the lens for the affected color.
The toner cartridges are not
Xerox
®
toner cartridges.
Replace the toner cartridges with
genuine Xerox
®
toner cartridges. For
details, see Consumables on page 185.
The toner was stored in a high
temperature area.
Replace the toner cartridge.
White line or lines running
through all colors
Paper or debris is dragging
against the bottom of the
transfer belt unit.
Remove any paper or debris from
the paper path.
Replace the transfer belt unit.

Slanted printing
The paper guides are not set
correctly.
Reset the paper tray guides. For details,
see Loading Paper on page 56.
Incomplete fusing
Toner appears to be missing from
the print or is easy to rub off.
Verify that the paper you are using
is the correct type for the printer
and is loaded properly.
Verify that the paper loaded in the
tray matches the paper type
selected at the control panel and in
the print driver.
Set the paper type to one type
heavier.
