Printer Operation Problems
7-6 ❖ DocuPrint N17/N17b User Guide
A PostScript or PCL job
fails to print.
1. Check that you are using a DocuPrint N17 PostScript printer driver.
2. For a PostScript job, set the Print Errors item in the PostScript Menu to
On
and
resend the job.
• If an error page prints, there is a problem in the PostScript coding. Correct
the coding problem and resend the job. Asking for unavailable features can
cause a configuration error.
• If the job still does not print and an error page was not printed, the job may
require additional memory. See
Appendix A of the System Administrator
Guide
for ordering more printer memory.
3. For a PCL job, do the following:
• Check the output for PCL errors.
• If there is a problem in the PCL coding, correct the coding problem and
resend the job.
• If there is no error message, resend the job.
• If the error message indicates “out of memory,” the job may require
additional memory. See
Appendix A of the System Administrator Guide
for
ordering more printer memory.
